Linda Mary Harvey Barton
SYRACUSE -- Linda Mary Harvey Barton, 69, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at Davis Hospital, due to complications from surgery. She returned to her Heavenly Father’s presence peacefully while surrounded by her children. She was born October 4, 1948 to Ray Bosworth and Ima B. Whitesides Harvey in Salt Lake City, UT. She graduated from Davis High School and Weber State College.
Linda married her sweetheart, Dennis Jay Barton, on December 30, 1971 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Linda loved working with kids and teaching. After Graduating from WSC with a BA in Elementary Education, she worked several years with special needs children, and assisted her mother in teaching as well. Linda enjoyed crocheting and many different forms crafts. Most of all, Linda enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Whether gathering for a meal, celebrating a birthday, or camping in beautiful places like Yellowstone National Park, Linda was happy to be with those she loved.
Linda loved the sunshine, and spread rays of sunshine in the lives of everyone she met. Any interaction Linda had, she always made sure to share a kind compliment, every time. She enjoyed singing and had a special place in her heart for music.
She is survived by three sons: James Jay (Valerie) Barton, Brady Jay Barton, Barry Jay (Alisha) Barton and three brothers: Frank B. “Pete” (Marci) Harvey, Richard L. (Marge) Harvey, L. James “Jim” (Jean) Harvey, cousins, nieces, nephews and many more that loved her. She was preceded in death by her brother Conley W. Harvey and husband Dennis Jay Barton.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Syracuse Legacy Park Stake Center, 2024 South 1475 West Syracuse, Utah. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah and Monday from 9:30 to10:30 a.m. before the services at the stake center. A family luncheon will be held immediately following the services, before continuing to the Interment.
Interment will be at the Henefer City Cemetery Monday at 3:00 p.m.
The family extends their gratitude to the Davis Hospital ICU staff for the care and concern they provided.
