Linda Kay Black, passed away in her home on January 26, 2021 after a 9 year battle with cancer.

Linda was born April 2, 1947 to Golden and Leora (Covey) Bennett in Ogden, Utah.  She spent her childhood on Mutton Hollow Road in Kaysville. Linda attended Davis High School where she was a member of Pro-Schola.  During high school she met her sweetheart Steven James Black. They were married July 2, 1965. On June 28, 2014 they were sealed as a family in the Logan, Utah temple.

Linda and Steve bought a home in Kaysville where they raised with their two children Steven Black Jr.  and Heather Kay Black .  They enjoyed traveling and spent lots of time camping and fishing in the Uintahs. In 1993 they built a home on Gordon Ave. in West Layton where she spent the rest of her life.

She started working at Kings Department Store in 1968 where she became the bookkeeper. After depositing money at the bank for over 20 years they recruited her. In 1990 she started as a teller at First National Bank in Layton at the Fairfield branch. She soon became the Branch Manager where she worked until retirement in 2008.

Linda loved to spend her time painting, crocheting, and was very talented at interior decorating. She was an avid Utah Jazz fan. She liked to ski and ride horses with her kids. Linda was a member of the Weber County Mounted Sheriff's Posse and went on many trail rides with them. She loved to travel, especially to Yellowstone, and go on cruises where she got to see Alaska, Hawaii, the Southern Caribbean, and the Mediterranean Greek Isles. She also loved to spend time at their property in Star Valley Wyoming where they would regularly go to Jackson Hole to see the Bar J Wranglers.

She was known as her grandchildren's number one fan. She seldom missed a soccer game, dance recital, or rodeo to watch her grandkids compete. They loved to come have sleepovers and go to breakfast with grandma and grandpa.

She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She enjoyed doing family history work. She and her husband were called as ward Family History Consultants.
