Our sweet mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Helen Linda Russell Taylor Burrows, 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 7, 2013. She was born August 6, 1938 to Dean Stanley and Emma Marie Rasmussen Russell in Ogden, Utah.
Linda married Burt Harold Taylor and together they had four children. They were later divorced. She married W. Verneal Burrows in Ogden, Utah and together they enjoyed nine years of marriage until his passing in 2003; their marriage was solemnized in the Bountiful LDS Temple.
She was raised and educated in Ogden, Utah and graduated from Weber High School and attended Weber College and Utah State University. Linda was a lifelong, faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served in many callings and found love and joy with her Ogden 5th Ward family. Linda also found great comfort in the Gospel and emulated Christ-like attributes.
Linda worked for the Internal Revenue Service in various positions and retired after 28 years of dedicated service. After retirement, Linda served as a volunteer at Ogden Regional Medical Center where she greeted patients with her sparkly smile in her compassionate way.
With the love and support of her family, she excelled as a single mother of young children. Although Linda met many challenges in life, she served her family and friends tirelessly. She taught us the value of a strong work ethic, followed the Golden Rule - treating others as she wanted to be treated with a kind, pure heart. She had a strong sense of community amongst her friends always organizing, coordinating and communicating to keep everyone connected. Linda had a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh. Linda loved to dance and now she is dancing amongst angels. She had an appreciation for beauty and style and worked hard to be a hip gal. She was the epitome of grace, never complaining and always finding a silver lining in every situation.
She cherished the time she spent with her family which included lunch and movie dates with her sisters and attending events for her grandchildren. She loved gardening, chocolate and her daily cup of happiness - a Diet Coke (with a slice of lemon). Linda enjoyed preparing celebrations for birthdays and holidays with her family. She truly made her house a home with her special touch.
Linda is survived by her children, Ken (Cary) Taylor, LaMirada, CA; Marla (Bill) Grilz and Valerie (Jim) Kierejewski, both of Ogden, UT; eleven grandchildren, Perri (Brent), Lexie (Justin), Troy, Trace, Kaden, Cameron, Rossi, Madison and CJ; sisters, Marilyn (Art) Pledger, Kathleen (Richard) Gilbert and Deanie (Robert) Stott, and many close family and friends.
