Linda Marie Gardner Schofield
SYRACUSE a" Linda Marie Gardner Schofield died Monday, March 7, 2011 at Promise Hospital in Salt Lake City of multiple medical complications following a hip fracture.
She was born April 17, 1941 in Afton, Wyoming the first child of Darrel and Beatrice Gardner.
She married Nolan C. Schofield March 17, 1961 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died just 10 days short of their 50th anniversary. Together they had six children: Cory (Robin), Provo; Jeff (Annette), Spanish Fork; Hal (Stephanie), Syracuse; Lisa (Wade Okelberry), Syracuse; Matt (Sarah), Syracuse; and Wade, West Point. They have 22 grandchildren with one on the way and two great-grandchildren.
Linda was employed at Clearfield High School for 20 years and retired in 2001.
She is survived by her husband and children, two brothers Mike (Linda) Gardner, Kaysville, Mark Gardner, San Jose, CA; two sisters, Pat (Brian) Poll, So. Weber; and Darrelyn (Mike) Bybee, Roy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, father and mother-in-law Charles and Erma Schofield, brother Eddie, grandparents and twin grandsons Taelor and Tilar Schofield.
Linda has been active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in all the auxiliary organizations. She and her husband most recently served as ordinance workers in the Ogden Temple. Linda had a strong testimony of the Savior and we are sure that she is with Him now.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Legacy Park Stake Center, 2024 So. 1475 W., Syracuse. Friends may visit family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
