Linda L. Stanley

Linda L. Stanley OGDEN – Linda Lee Stanley, 54, and Vernon Payton Stanley, 46, died Monday, June 30, 2008 in Montana from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Linda was born April 21, 1954 in Washington D.C., a daughter of Keith and Roma Park Jaques. Vern was born October 10, 1962 in San Jose, California, a son of Bill and Myrna Buck Stanley. They were married September 23, 2006 in Willard. Although it was a short time, it was the happiest few years of their lives. Linda and Vern were two very amazing people. They were like peanut butter and jelly together. Vern brought a lot of joy into Linda’s life. They enjoyed doing things together such as boating, water skiing, tubing and wake boarding with their family and friends. Linda’s love for her three children was unconditional. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for them. She was a wonderful grandma and truly enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters Valerie and Kindra. Vern was a big teddy bear with a very big heart and the most unforgettable laugh. He had a way of finding the best in people and was willing to help anyone out. He was a very loving husband and father who loved his sons Josh and T.J. very much. Linda was a hard worker and enjoyed her job at Hill Air Force Base as an electrical equipment repair technician. Vern served with the U.S. Air Force for 10 years. He was an electrician at Hill Air Force Base for many years and worked for L-3 Communications for the past six months. Linda was always smiling. She was a very strong, amazing woman and she will be missed and loved by many. The Special Olympics was a big part of Vern’s life. He coached many competitive sports and was the Head of Delegations for two Ogden Teams, the Hawks and Dragons. He loved his parents and his two sisters very much. He showed his wife, Linda, what true love and happiness was like, and gave her the best last few years of their lives. He will be missed and loved by many. Linda is survived by three children, Philip Reeves and William Reeves, both of Layton; Roma Reeves, Sunset; two grandchildren, Valerie and Kindra; her mother, Roma Jaques Gold, Centerville; two brothers and two sisters, Brad Jaques, Howard Jaques, Cynthia Saltsgiver and Lori Mortensen. Vern is survived by two sons, Joshua Stanley and Timothy Stanley, both of Salt Lake City; his parents, Bill and Myrna Stanley, of Washington; and two sisters, Luann Brun and Holly Boyko. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Keith Jaques. Joint funeral services will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Pastor Diane Bell of the Community United Methodist Church in Washington Terrace, officiating.
