Lindsay Blair Richards

November 30, 1978 ~ November 20, 2014

Our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and friend Lindsay Richards peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father early Thursday morning, November 20, 2014.  Lindsay was in the loving arms of her husband when she passed, surrounded by family.  Lindsay was born on November 30, 1978 in Ogden, Utah to Robert and Nancy Blair.  She married her high school sweetheart and best friend Shawn Richards on March 10, 2000 in the Salt Lake City Temple.  Lindsay resided in Ogden for the majority of her life, with the exception of one year in spent in Seattle and one year spent in New Jersey/New York.

Lindsay was blessed with five beautiful children during her near 15-year marriage to Shawn.  Her children and husband all cherish her and will never forget the love she showed them.  Lindsay truly loved her family and friends.  She never ended a conversation with a family member without saying “I love you.”  In return, Lindsay’s family and friends loved her deeply, and any one of them would have gladly taken her place in her fight against cancer.

Lindsay was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Lindsay was also a gifted singer and stage performer.  Lindsay performed musical numbers on stages all across Europe, and played the lead role of Lady Adelaide as a high school senior in the musical Guys and Dolls.  Lindsay has performed in and directed road shows and other stage performances.  Lindsay is a former member of the Junior League of Ogden and she participated in a book club with her friends.  Lindsay also loved to cook and bake.  Her lemon bars would have taken first place in any taste contest.

For nearly two years Lindsay fought cancer with style, grace and power.  Lindsay’s “never quit” attitude and loving smile were well known by everyone, including her doctors and nurses.  When she arrived for chemotherapy treatments at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital, she was the main attraction in the chemo room.  Nurses, doctors and other patients gathered around Lindsay to hear her laugh, gaze at her smile, and admire her always stylish shoes.  Lindsay’s joyful attitude even in the face of seemingly insurmountable trials inspired everyone around her to fight harder, love stronger, and to live, not just survive.

Lindsay is survived by her husband, Shawn; children, Austin, Annabelle, Zachary, Isla, and Gwyneth; parents Robert and Nancy Blair; brothers, Bart, Brad and Zachary Blair; and grandparents, Thelma Blair and Frank Telford, all of Ogden.  She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Edward Blair and Nulda Telford.

We love you, Lindsay.  We will miss you every day.  You are always in our hearts and on our minds.  Lindsay’s family expresses special appreciation to her doctors and nurses at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital.  We love you all.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Burch Creek 2 ^nd Ward, 5161 South 1300 East, Ogden, UT.  Friends may visit family on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
