He served a second time when he was drafted into the Army during World War II on May 25, 1942. He served in the 784th Battalion Military Police with the Army in New Guinea until November 6, 1945. Lindsey attended school at Weber State College in Ogden, and the Salt Lake Community College. He worked at the Ogden Arsenal and Defense Depot as a guard and a civilian employee at Hill Air Force Base as a Hydraulic Repairman. He retired from Hill Air Force Base June 11, 1971 with 34 years of service to the Federal Government. He became a Barber with Golden Spike Barber Shop in Layton, and later worked as a custodian for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Clearfield 9th Ward with his wife and children. Lindsey married Wanda Lorraine Blaylock on December 10, 1941 in Pocatello, Idaho. They were divorced on December 10, 1962. He has two sons by this marriage; Robert Lindsey (Addie) Munson of Layton, Utah and Michael Levi (Bonnie) Munson, of Farr West, Utah. On December 21, 1963 he married Angelena Sorensen and they were later sealed in the LDS Ogden Temple for Time and all Eternity on March 23, 1974. He Loved the Gospel with all of his heart and had a tremendous testimony of his Savior, Jesus Christ. He faithfully served as a home-teacher throughout the years and had a great love for each of his home-teaching families. Lindsey enjoyed nature, camping and traveling with his family. He had a tender heart for animals and loved bird watching; but his greatest passion was always his family. He was happiest when surrounded by loved ones and filled our lives with joy through his singing, remarkable wit and sense of humor. He taught life lessons through memorable quotes. The grandchildren’s favorite, “Keep your nose clean”, aka ‘stay out of trouble’ will be a cherished remembrance. He is survived by his wife and children, 36 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren. The family would like to give special thanks to the many neighbors, friends, and extended family members who have expressed their love, support and prayers through the preceding months, as well as a special thank you to Caregiver Support Network for the care given to Lindsey and his family during the final days, especially to Jennifer Bingham for her devotion, wisdom, and endless compassion and to Dean and David for their friendship and care of Lindsey. We appreciate all the expressions of sympathy and love and pray that your hearts have been touched as ours have. Lindsey’s children would like to express their gratitude to our mother, who has been by Lindsey’s side and given him loving care beyond what any reasonable person could give, and we are blessed to have her in our lives. May God bless and comfort you. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
