Lisa Marie-Jones Lindblad

      1959-2014

Lisa Marie-Jones Lindblad, 55, passed away peacefully in her home in Fruit Heights, Utah on Tuesday, March 18, 2014.

She was born January 18, 1959 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Warren and Elaine Alger Jones.  She married David Lindblad on March 18, 1977.

Lisa attended the U of U during her senior year of high school, graduating from East High School in 1977.  She graduated magna cum laude, and Phi Beta Kappa with a BS in mathematics in 1982 during her first year of Law School.  She then received her Juris Doctor form the U of U College of Law in 1984.  After law school Lisa worked in various fields of law until she began her career at Hill Air Force Base as a civilian with the US Air Force 1988.  She also worked as senior counsel with Cordant/Thiokol from 1998-2000 and then returned as an attorney with the

Air Force.  She received several awards throughout her life: Highest GPA Award (U of U Dept. of Mathematics, William H. Leary Scholar Award (U of U Dept. of Law), and the Meritorious Civilian Award  (US Air Force).

Lisa had many interests.  She recently developed a love for painting which she used to capture great memories with her loved ones at her family cabin at Bear Lake.  She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends around the world.  She loved all kinds of music, especially the music played by her family.

She has and will continue to change the world for the better through the opportunities she created for everyone around her.  Lisa was an excellent role model throughout her life.  She lived  beautifully and cherished the love of her family, friends, and others as well.  Her love will always be contagious.  

Lisa will be forever loved by her husband David; son David, Jr.; daughter Ann-Marie; mother Elaine Jones; five brothers Warren (Fran) Jones, Craig (Sylvia) Jones, Scott (Sue) Jones, Rick (Wendy) Jones, Tom (Athena) Jones; sister Cheryl (David) Stott.  Preceded in death by her father Warren.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends may meet family from 2-2:45 pm prior to services.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Women for Women International (www.womenforwomen.org).
