Lisa C. Montgomery 1955-2012

Lisa C. Montgomery, born on April 2, 1955 to Robert and Francis Peterson in New Orleans, LA, passed away peacefully in her home on the morning of June 25, 2012. She was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in 1999 and battled it for 13 years to continue to raise her young children.

After growing up in Kendall, FL, she graduated from Miami Killian High School in 1973, received her Bachelor''s of Science degree from Florida State University, and earned her master''s degree in Psychology from Utah State University. She used her education to serve others, working as a social worker for the disabled and a school counselor for troubled teens.

Lisa had a strong testimony and love for our Savior Jesus Christ. After joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1978, she served several successful missions in Osorno, Chili, Temple Square and the Jordan River Temple. She was grateful beyond measure to have the opportunity to join and serve in the LDS Church, which gave her much hope and happiness. She loved music and served as a ward chorister and sang in the choir when able.

She married Raymond Lane Montgomery in the Salt Lake Temple on August 16, 1983, later divorced. She was a devoted mother of eight wonderful children and grandmother to four joyful grandchildren. She had a silly sense of humor and filled many hearts with love and laughter.

Lisa was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Joseph Mason Montgomery. She is survived by her seven children Jonathon, Katherine, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Rachel, Amy and Sarah, brother Robert Peterson and sister Bonnie Collier.

We love you Mom, and are eternally grateful for your example. We love you and will miss you, forever and always!

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends may visit family Monday from 6-8 pm and 12-12:45 pm Tuesday prior to services. Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.
