Lloyd Ray Anglesey 89, passed away on November 28, 2019 in Ogden, Utah. He was born September 11, 1930 in Afton, Wyoming to Lenord and Avilda Anglesey. Lloyd has many stories and adventures of his childhood in Star Valley.

He joined the Navy in 1950 and served 4 years aboard the USS Rupertus. He had many fond memories of his time spent on that ship with friends who he would know for a lifetime.

He married his Sweetheart, Evonne Hancey on July 30, 1955. They lived in Brigham City, Ogden, Willard, and Harrisville, making many wonderful friends along the way. Lloyd was always a hard worker. He worked at Big J Flour, Botts Monuments, Utah Concrete and Pipe, and Amcor as a truck driver. He drove over 2 million miles before retiring from Amcor. Even after all those miles he still loved to take his family on road trips.

Lloyd loved fishing, snowmobiling, and riding Harleys. He loved making his yard look amazing from planting things to making buildings and pouring cement. He was happy just being outside. He loved helping others with their yards and took pride in everything he did.

He served many callings in the LDS Church, including secretary, 1st counselor, and Bishop.

Lloyd was heartbroken when his wife of 64 years passed away in July. But we are sure he is having a joyful reunion with her now. Lloyd is survived by his three children, David (Karen) Anglesey, Judy (Jim) Strank, Larry (Carol) Anglesey; 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild on his way. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
