Lloyd Hampton Brown, Jr. passed away Friday, June 16, 2017 at McKay-Dee Hospital.

He was born June 21, 1941 in Alberene, VA to Lloyd Hampton Brown, Sr. and June Josephson Brown. After graduation from high school in Maryland, he joined the United States Air Force and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict.

Lloyd married Jeanette Nicholas on October 25, 1963 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had three children together and later divorced. He married Linda Kay Shinkle on September 15, 1984.

Lloyd retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1993 and with his wife was able to build a home on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State and live his retirement dream. They returned to Utah in 2006.

He was a member of the Utah State Firefighters Association, Utah State Fire Chiefs Association and Davis County Utah Fire Chiefs Association. He served as Clinton City Fire Chief from 1975 to 1993. His comradery with his fellow firefighters was the highlight of his career. Lloyd absolutely loved and was so very proud to serve the citizens of Clinton City and Davis County.

He was an extremely skilled woodworker and also enjoyed camping, fishing, winters in Arizona, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife, Linda, Roy; their children, Julianne Brown Fleming (Aaron), Farr West, UT; Steve Brown (Crystal), Hurricane, UT; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and siblings, Charlotte Shaffer, New Market, VA; Franklin Brown, Orlando, FL and Patricia Lindbloom, Redmond, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his loving daughter, Jill Brown Graves.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends and family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Clinton City Cemetery.
