“Gone Fishing”
West Bountiful, UT - Lloyd Robert (Bob) Johnson passed away peacefully on January 10, 2013 at the age of 91 in Bountiful, Utah following a short illness. Bob was born February 10, 1921 in Pasadena, California to George W.F. and Ruth Ann Tracy Johnson. In 1933 he and his family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he lived until 2005. On February 3, 1943 he married Melba Briggs from Beaver, Utah in Boston, Massachusetts and they were lifelong companions for 67 years until her death in 2010.
Bob was a WWII veteran who served in the United States Army as a Captain from 1940-1945. He enjoyed golf, fishing, camping, upland bird hunting and old movies. Dad especially enjoyed his fishing trips to Beaver Canyon, Lake Powell and Strawberry Reservoir. He was a long time member and past president of the Las Vegas Exchange Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, younger brother Glen, and grandson Roy Larsen III. He is survived by his daughter Marilyn Anne Larsen (Roy) of Bend, Oregon; son Michael R. Johnson (Jeannie) of West Bountiful, Utah; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. A quiet man, Dad was loved and will be missed by all who knew him. At his request no services will be held. Care is entrusted to Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary.
