Lloyd H. Sage
OGDEN a" Lloyd Harold Sage, 86, died Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at McKay-Dee Hospital of heart failure.
He was born June 28, 1924 in Grand Island, Nebraska, a son of Harold Allyn and Luella C. Blair Sage.
Lloyd married Esther C. Rink on August 4, 1946 in Pender, Nebraska at St. Mark''s Lutheran Church.
He was raised and educated in Minatare, Nebraska.
Lloyd served his country with the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was an active member of First Baptist Church and served as finance secretary, Men''s Group and in building maintenance with other members.
He retired from Boeing Company after many years of service as a supply technician.
Lloyd received a Gold Medal in Lincoln, Nebraska in the 100-yard dash and 200 relay- race at the State Track Meet in 1942. He enjoyed golfing with his grandson, fishing, and was an avid Jazz, Nebraska and Weber State sports fan. Most of all, he loved to talk with family and friends on the telephone.
Surviving are his wife, Esther, Ogden; one son and one daughter, Ron (Janet) Sage, Federal Way, WA; Janet (David) Moore, Ogden; five grandchildren, Jenifer Carlaw, Lisa (Jerry) Moran, Mitzi (Patrick) Hall, Christy (Bart) Blair, Tyler Moore and nine great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Victor Sage, Minatare, NE; Russell (Marilyn) Sage, Soap Lake, WA.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. the First Baptist Church, 25th and Jefferson Avenue with Pastor Karl Dumas officiating.
Family will meet with friends at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday at the Church one hour prior to services.
Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road where Military Honors will be accorded.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Ogden.
