Lois Boucher

Lois Rosalie Branting Boucher

Lois chose to leave this earth Sunday afternoon, April 30, 2017, with sunshine streaming in her path.  After turning 92 years old, she remained strong in her convictions, her memories, her love of her family and her personality beamed with all whom she came in contact.  She shared her many years of nursing skills with the staff at Life Care Center of Bountiful and we are grateful for the wonderful care she received and the relationships she built.

Lois Rosalie was born on April 1, 1925 to Frank Pasco Branting and Agda Victoria Lannstrom Branting in Salt Lake City, Utah.  She married David Arthur Boucher on July 30, 1948 in Salt Lake City, which was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple (Dec 4, 1961).

Lois graduated from South High School in 1943.  In her early years and during the Great Depression, her father’s cousin, Russell Lund, moved in with her family and contributed to the household during that difficult time.  Lois and Russ were very close and he provided the opportunity for her to attend the University of Utah Nursing School through Salt Lake General Hospital, graduating in 1946.  During her career, she worked in many hospitals across the valley and in Davis County.  Towards the end of her career, she enjoyed managing a medical office and working with Mark Muir, MD, General Surgeon, LDS Hospital.  After retirement, Lois and Dave enjoyed traveling and spending time together.  Her nursing skills were again called into action as she cared for her husband during his lengthy struggle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Lois is survived by her five children, David A. Boucher II (Pamela, deceased), Mark S. Boucher (Linda), Tammy Boucher (David Curtis), Kristine Day (Douglas) and Brita Larsen (Rick); 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, David Arthur Boucher, her parents, two brothers (Frank Branting, Joseph Branting), two sisters (Mary McDonald, Glenita Stephenson), Russell W. Lund and granddaughter, (Brenda C. Boucher).

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 11:00am at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N 400 E, Bountiful, Utah.  Interment Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 S. 200 W., Bountiful, Utah.
