Lois Buttars Braithwaite 12/2/1919 a" 09/13/2007
OGDEN a" A loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Lois Buttars Braithwaite, 87, died Thursday, September 13, 2007 from complications of Alzheimer''s disease.
Lois was born December 2, 1919 in Clarkston, Utah, a daughter of Thomas J. and Annie Loosle Buttars.
She was married to her eternal companion, Neldon Braithwaite, on September 20, 1948 in the Logan LDS Temple.
Lois was raised and educated in Cache County, and graduated from North Cache High School. She attended Utah State University. She was employed in various capacities through the years and rarely sat idle.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings, including primary president and relief society president. She loved to play the piano and the organ. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
The youngest of 12 children, Lois is survived by her sister, Berneice Buttars (Joseph) Griffin, Clarkston, UT; her children, Laurel Braithwaite, Ogden; Elaine (Robert) Holden, Ogden; John (Janet) Braithwaite, Salt Lake City; and four grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Neldon, her parents, and 10 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Mound Fort 2nd Ward Chapel, 952 Childs Avenue (one and a-half blocks west of Washington Blvd. on 10th Street) with Bishop Ryan Woodward officiating.
Friends and family may call at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday at the Ward Chapel from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment, Clarkston, Utah Cemetery.
