Lois Ruth Murphy Carper

Lois Ruth Murphy Carper passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2008, at Manor Care Center, Ogden, Utah at the age of 86.

She was born December 15, 1921 in Denver, Colorado the daughter of Patrick and Margret Duis Murphy.

She married Marlin "Bud" Carper on March 3, 1944 in Casper, Wyoming. Upon his death she moved her and her boys to Clearfield, Utah to be closer to her sister Verna Mae.

Ruth worked at Hill AFB as a Supply Clerk.

Her greatest gift was public speaking. She enjoyed and belonged to many organizations, including Federal Women''s Club and Rhets-ITC Club. She cherished all the friends and fun times she had with them.

Surviving are her three sons, Dale (Susan) Carper, Layton; John (Barbara) Carper, High Point, NC; Don (Jill) Carper, Clearfield; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and her sister Verna Mae Nichol, Clearfield.

She was preceded in death by her husband "Bud" and her brother Gerald.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Thursday one hour prior to services at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

The family would like to give special thanks to Manor Care Center, Ogden, Utah. Special heartfelt thanks also to Apple Tree Assisted Living Center who went the extra mile for her.

In lieu of flowers do something extra nice for someone.
