Lois Jean Peterson Johnson
August 17, 1925 ~ September 13, 2018
Lois Jean Peterson Johnson passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018, surrounded by family just weeks after her 93rd birthday. She was born in Salt Lake City to Eliot and Mary Peterson on August 17, 1925. Lois grew up during World War II. She met her husband, Hilton Johnson, at Ft. Douglas where he was stationed when she was working as a secretary. They were married on July 16, 1942 in Green River, WY and were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 17, 1942.
Lois and Hilton lived in Salt Lake City for many years where they had four children. Lois was a stay at home mother during the children’s younger years, but later, after moving to Ogden, she worked for several years at IRS.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings in the church. She and Hilton served a 2-year LDS Mission to Alaska after their children were grown.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Hilton; her sister, Ruth Clarke; two grandsons, and one great-grandson. She is survived by her children, Kathy (Dave) Kaiser, Warren (Micki) Johnson, Marcia (Scott) Andersen, and Carolyn Johnson. Lois was a beloved grandmother to 24 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all.
Private services will be held on Monday, September 17, 2018. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary.
