Lois Arlene Niven, 86, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, in Layton, Utah on December 6, 2018. She was born June 29, 1932 in Gladwater, Texas to Malcolm Marion and Julia Isabel Adee.
She married Joseph Errol Niven on November 24, 1951 in Los Angeles, California. They are the parents of seven children. Lois has lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Thousand Oaks, California and for the last 17 years in Syracuse, Utah.
Lois served in many capacities, including Primary, Relief Society, and Young Women, within the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a talented artist, seamstress, and writer. Lois loved her family dearly and considered them her greatest achievement.
She is survived by her younger brother (James) and two sisters (Kathryn and Linda), seven children; Jeffrey (Barbara) Niven, Leslie (Milan) Kunz, Gregg (Deborah) Niven, Elise Black, Eric (Cathi) Niven, Dani (John) Bale, Stacey (Curtis) Hadley, 32 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Errol.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Sand Springs church building, 3161 West 150 North, Layton, Utah. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton.
