Lois J. Polson FARR WEST – Lois Jeanette Fisher Polson, 85, died peacefully on Monday, July 2, 2007 at her home in Farr West, with her family by her side. She was born April 12, 1922 in Ogden, a daughter of Robert Ward and Emma Jeanette Woodfield Fisher. On August 4, 1943, Lois married Charles Fayette Polson in Ogden. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Charles preceded her in death on May 15, 1977. She was a lifelong resident of Farr West except for two years she spent in Wyoming. Lois was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She taught Primary, served in the Primary Presidency, and Primary Librarian. She was a registered nurse at McKay-Dee Hospital for many years. She also taught home nursing in the community. Lois was a member of the Farr West Dinner Club and Farr West Homemakers. Lois enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting and made booties for her grandchildren and ward members. She also made many other homemade articles for people. She helped many people with home nursing. She was an excellent cook and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved flowers and nature and walks around her yard. Surviving are two sons and five daughters, Terry (Sharon) Polson, Max (Francine) Polson, and Kathy (Dan) Miller, all of Farr West; Janeen (Marvin) Hansen, North Ogden; Susan (Orvel) Turnbow, Slaterville; Marla (Don) Parkinson, Syracuse; Marilyn Thorsted, North Ogden; 32 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren with two babies soon to be born. Also surviving are one sister, Gladys Taylor, and one sister-in-law, Dorothy Fisher. She was preceded in death by her husband, her son Bart Polson, parents, brothers Howard Fisher and Robert Fisher, and one granddaughter Ashley Polson. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Farr West 1st Ward Chapel, 1800 North 1800 West. Family will meet friends at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd., on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
