Lois Bleazard Rogers
October 24, 1934 ~ April 30, 2017
Lois Bleazard Rogers, 82, slipped from our arms and passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017 surrounded by family at McKay-Dee Hospital from a severe subdural hematoma.
She was born October 24, 1934 in Mt. Home, Utah to Stephen Jack and Anna Viola Mitchell Bleazard.
On June 8, 1951, Lois married her first and only love, David Jae Rogers in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They began life together at 16 and 18 years old and remained inseparable for 66 years.
Lois is a woman beyond wonder. Any who knew her were awed by her kindness and talents. She mastered gardening, crochet, needlework, sewing, and quilting. She was a Daughter of the Utah Pioneers, and served in numerous LDS church callings also serving a mission with her husband in Roanoke, Virginia.
Lois is survived by her husband, and their children, Debra (Max) Green, David J. (Wendy) Rogers, Pamela (Doug) Gard, Jamie (David) Garner, Catherine Haynes, Lauri (Brent) Hammon, Richard M. (Lezlie) Rogers, Amy Putnam, 26 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, one brother, Mike (Jean) Bleazard, two sisters, Carol (Cecil) Hanberg and Janice Steinhorst. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law, Robert Steinhorst, grandson, D.J. Rogers and great-grandson, Afton Jae Hammon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017 at the Clinton 9th Ward Chapel, 2141 West 1800 North. The family will meet with friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Hooper Cemetery.
