Lola S. Miller, our beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt passed away peacefully on November 4, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Fish Haven, Idaho, August 19, 1939, to Thomas and Meryl Smith.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and she always strived to show her love for her Savior and Heavenly Father.
Lola was married to the love (and sometimes pain) of her life, James Miller, on November 14, 1959, and was sealed in the Ogden Temple on March 24, 1976. They shared a beautiful and impressive 65 years together, sticking strong through the good times and bad.
She had many interests such as sewing and embroidery, but nothing could beat the joy she felt being surrounded by her family. She was always there for each of her sons and grandchildren, whether they needed a shoulder to cry on or a distraction from real life. Her heart was full, and it overflowed onto all who had the privilege to know her.
Lola is survived by her husband, James; her sons, James (Jana), Douglas (Sherry), Michael (Bobbie), and David (Leslie); 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sons, Thomas and Kelly; her granddaughters, Kamille Miller and Tiffany Hood (Mike); daughter-in-law, Jana; her loving parents; Thomas and Meryl Smith; her brother and sister, Gayle Smith (Dixie) and Iris Yanda (Bill). Above all else, she loved her family with a fierceness that others can’t help but admire.
The family would like to thank everyone who helped Lola through her final stages of life, especially the Lodge in North Ogden and Independence Home Health Care for taking such great care of her.
