Lola M. Sewell, 90, left us on March 28, 2013. She was born in Milton, Morgan, Utah on February 25, 1923 to Leland Henry and Reta Geary Mecham. She was the 3rd of 10 children. Lola graduated from Morgan High School in 1941.
She went to work at the Ogden Arsenal for 2 years then joined the Navy in 1943 and was stationed in Washington, DC. While she was in the Navy she performed secretarial duties and played on their softball team. She received a degree in Education from Weber College in 1955. She was a receptionist and all around go-to person for Don''s Hair Styling Salon. Lola worked at IRS until she retired.
Lola married Floyd Nelson Wheelwright on November 25, 1944 and they had 2 children, Lyle and Patricia. They later divorced. Lola married Ray Sewell on January 27, 1967. They had many good years of travel in their motor-home seeing the U.S. and parts of Canada. They also visited Hawaii and Venezuela. After tiring of traveling in the motor- home they built a home at Bear Lake and wintered in Yuma, AZ for several years. They enjoyed their neighbors and kept in contact after Mom couldn''t travel any longer.
Mom loved to snowmobile, bowl and played bridge as often as she could. She watched sports especially the Jazz, Denver Broncos, and San Francisco 49ers, or any baseball or basketball game she could find on the TV.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Lola leaves behind her husband, Ray of 46 years; children, Lyle (Linda) Wheelwright, South Ogden; Patricia (Dennis) Peters, Murray; Nancy (Dennis) Petersen, Ogden; Janine Porter, Cedar City; and Rayann (Gary) Stoker, North Ogden; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Melba Bailey, Pleasant View; and Grace Evans, South Weber; and brothers, Verl (Deanna) Mecham, Morgan; and Geary (Saundra) Mecham, North Ogden.

We would like to thank Manor Care and their staff and A Step Forward Hospice Care, especially Erica Dixon for the love she showed Mom.
