Lola Weir

Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Lola Woolsey Woodfield Weir, 86, passed away on December 14, 2013.

She was born on August 17, 1927 in Stoddard, Utah to Larry O. and Myrtle C. Pentz Woolsey. She attended Ogden City schools, graduating from Ogden High in 1945. She lived in the Ogden area throughout her life.

She married Mark C. Woodfield on November 7, 1945 in the Logan LDS Temple and together they had four children. Mark passed away on December 24, 1963. She later married Douglas T. Weir on November 21, 1971 and they enjoyed 34 years of marriage before he passed away on November 19, 2005. She was fortunate to have had two good husbands in her life.

Lola worked at HAFB, IRS, Bates Elementary School, and Commercial Security Bank. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in various leadership positions, but her passion was working with the youth. She was also a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Her hobbies and interests included crocheting, gardening, traveling, genealogy, dancing, and reading.

Lola is survived by her children, Mark (Sheryl) Woodfield, Carolyn (Ken) Barnes, Shanna Poulson (Russ), and Denise (Jeff) Hirst; and three step-children, Dennis (Kathy) Weir, Larry (Ann) Weir, and LouAnn (Mark) Larkin. She was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, and is survived by her sister Myrna (Chuck) Singleton, and brother Larry (Chris) Woolsey.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands, Mark and Douglas.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Legacy House of Ogden for all their care, the doctors and nurses at McKay-Dee Hospital, and Intermountain Hospice for the kind and gentle care they provided.
