Lon Udy

Lon Carlyle Udy (64 years old) died December 19, 2019 at McKay Dee Hospital, Ogden, UT.  He was born on October 15, 1955 in Long Beach, California to Leo Carlyle Udy and Rhea Barlow.

He married Carleen Davis on January 31, 1978 in the Idaho Falls temple. He was very proud of their children; Raelyn (Kenton), Jolyn (Brian), Kaelyn (Braden), and his eight grandchildren; Hunter Child, Kinli Moffett, Kiri Moffett, Brik Child, Graeham Moffett, Oliver Moffett, Berkley Child, and Weston Child. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, father, and brother, Craig Udy. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rhea and his brother, Kevin Udy.

Lon’s career in the power industry provided opportunities to live in California, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming and Utah, but he always had a special place in his heart for Wyoming. After retirement, Lon and Carleen travelled all over the United States, experiencing many of the places they had longed to see.

Lon truly loved working in the garage and yard, always with a Buc-ee’s mug by his side and a spirit of teasing in his heart. Whether it’d be yard work, gardening, construction projects, 4-wheeling, hunting, or taking scenic drives; adventuring outside was where he truly loved to be. It was said that he had the most organized garage in Utah. He especially enjoyed being around family and joining in on shenanigans with the grandchildren.

He belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was an active member. He served in many positions, but serving with the youth were some that he cherished most, including recently with his cub scouts.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kaysville Stake Center, 615 N Flint St, Kaysville, Utah. Friends may visit with family on Friday, December 27, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main St, Kaysville, Utah, and on Saturday, December 28, 2019 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
