Loni DeMille Macias, born January 30, 1956, of Clinton, Utah, tragically passed away on September 30, 2022 from suicide.
Loni is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 46 years, Sergio Macias, her children Sergio Eric (Bethany) Macias, Jenell (John) Nordfors, and Hanah (Bryce) Catmull, and her beloved grandchildren Isabel (Derek) Washburn, Axel Nordfors, Reese Catmull, Luke Macias, Kate Catmull, and Amelia Macias.
Loni married her sweetheart September 24, 1976 when they set off to create this wonderful life full of adventure and hardship, but mostly love. She worked as Sergio’s right hand man for 40 something years to build their successful drywall company while they raised three sometimes unruly children. And while she absolutely loved her children, her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she, theirs. She was born to be a grandma.
All who knew Loni, knew what it felt like to be seen, loved, and encouraged. A woman of many talents, making others feel loved was at the top of the list. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she demonstrated her faith and devotion through her Christ like love.
She was known to many as the donut lady, the treat lady, the yard sale aficionado. She remembered birthdays and anniversaries of every person she knew and would show up with the most perfect gift, the sweetest card, and the warmest hug. She never let anyone leave without a hug.
Loni was a talented seamstress, who shared the fruits of that talent with all of her family, friends, neighbors, and nearly every baby born in the last few decades. She could make anything, from beautiful baby blankets to reupholstered furniture. She used these talents to make her home a place of safety, comfort, refuge, and acceptance for everyone who walked through her door.
A loving wife, an adored mother, a cherished grandma, and a beloved friend, Loni will be so missed. This world will never be the same without her.
