Lonnie Dave Gabbard

Our loving father, devoted husband, wonderful son, and awesome brother, Lonnie Dave Gabbard, 40, unexpectedly passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at McKay-Dee Hospital.

He was born May 12, 1975 in Phoenix, Arizona, a son of Lonna Lee and David Wesley Gabbard (deceased). The family moved to Utah when he was 2 years old. During his life time he has lived in Deming, NM, Lehi and Taylor, Utah.

He graduated from Weber High School and attended Weber State University.

On July 15, 2000, Lonnie married Ruth Marie Sill in the Ogden LDS Temple.

He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; he served an LDS mission in the California Anaheim mission, he loved working with the youth, served as Scout Master, Elder Quorum President and currently Bishop of the Fair Grove Ward.

Lonnie was a hard worker, self-employed and ran a successful business, Gabbard Homes, Inc.

He loved spending time with his family, reading WWII history, working and conversing with friends. In his youth, he enjoyed spending summers in Arizona with his grandparents.

Lonnie is survived by his loving wife, Ruth; five of their children, Ethan, Liam, Lydia, Isabel and Sophia; his mother, Lonna; grandmother, Margaret Moore; siblings, Allan Moore, James Moore, Krystalee Gabbard; and nephew, Lonnie Clark.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Phoebe, his father, Dave, and grandfather, Lonnie Moore.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Kanesville Stake Center, 4555 West 4000 South. The family will meet with friends Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Stake Center

Interment, West Haven Cemetery.
