Loraine “Lori” Barowski was called home to her “sweetie” on December 13, 2023. Lori was born in Licking, Missouri on August 23, 1942 to William and Bytha Obermark. Lori spent her childhood in Licking and was one of eight children born to her parents. In high school, she played sports and sang in the choir. She was the #1 spiker on Licking High School’s Volleyball team.
She moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming after she graduated from high school where she met her earthly sweetheart, Michael Barowski. They were married for 59 years until Michael passed away in 2016.
Lori and Mike had three children who added fun and laughter to their “big adventure”., Michelle (James) Hawkins, Mark (Autumn) Barowski, and Charles (Nancy) Barowski, all who are from Ogden. Lori had 12 grandchildren, Michelle and James’ children include: Bryleigh and Flash Gordon, Brooklyn Hawkins, and Brody Hawkins; Mark and Autumn’s children include: Josh Barowski, Rachel and Cody Peterson, Sarah Barowski, and Nick Barowski; Charles and Nancy’s children include: Belle and Jordan Brady, and Mike Barowski. She held a special place in her heart for her three great-granddaughters, Halley, Laney, and Hazel, who lovingly called her Gigi.
She was a bookkeeper for many years where she worked for many local businesses and eventually retired from her son’s business in 2015.
Lori was a member of the Mountain View Baptist Church, where she was a proud member of their choir and loved to sing for all of the special occasions, including the holidays.
Lori was the ultimate hostess, who loved to entertain her family and friends for every occasion. She was a fastidious housekeeper and took great pride in her home. She was always dressed to the nines and didn’t leave the house without being dressed up with her jewelry on.
Our family is happy that our parents are finally together. Pops has been waiting for Mom to continue their adventure together.
Lori is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her extended family.
