LoRane Woodbury Miller
SYRACUSE a" LoRane Woodbury Miller passed away on March 21, 2008. LoRane was born to W. Evans Woodbury, Jr. and Donna Stephenson Woodbury, on the Centennial of the State of Utah, July 24, 1947 in Malad, Idaho.
LoRane married her sweetheart Jesse James Miller on June 3, 1983 in the Ogden LDS Temple. They had two beloved sons, and after having a daughter with Down Syndrome, adopted two more children with special needs.
Soon after earning her Master''s Degree in Special Education, she was diagnosed with brain cancer. With remarkable determination, LoRane surpassed all expectations and survived five years. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her five wonderful children, and in countless hours of service she has given to organizations for the disabled. She served ten years as President of DownSouth, the Southern Utah Chapter of the Utah Down Syndrome Foundation, and seven years as liaison for the Dixie Disabilities Alliance.
LoRane was a faithful member of the LDS Church. Her life was a shining example of love and optimism to all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband; five children, Kenyon (Dawna) Kinikini, Karson (Marlene) Kinikini, Suzanne (15), Matthew (13), and Alicia Miller (12): 8 A½ grandchildren; sisters Mayone Kinikini and Sue Woodbury; brothers William Woodbury and Stephen Woodbury; and many relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 11 a.m., at the Banbury LDS Stake Center, 1350 S. 1800 W., Syracuse. Friends may call Monday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road, and Tuesday 9:40 to 10:40 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
