Loreda H. Bosley

Loreda H. Bosley CLEARFIELD – Loreda Hansen Bosley, 85, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2008 after fighting a long term illness. Out of eight siblings, Loreda was the last of the Hansen children. All admired her will and determination to live, some of the doctors said “she had nine lives”. She was born in Brigham City on May 25, 1923 the daughter of Warren C. and Sarah Jessie Tingey Hansen, both of Brigham City. Loreda was raised on a farm in Brigham City where she learned the value of hard work by helping her Dad. Loreda graduated from Box Elder High in 1941. She was employed at Bushnell Burn Center for the Military during World War II as a nurse’s aid. For many years she worked on the weekends at Jessie’s Café in Perry, Utah where she was known for her sense of humor, jokes and great service. In 1963 she began a daycare for children in her home until she was in her late 70’s. Loreda was a hard worker and took pride in her jobs. Loreda met William “Boz” Grant Bosley in high school and later married on May 17, 1945. They lived in San Diego, California while Grant was in the U.S. Navy and then moved back to Utah to live in Garland, later moving to Ogden, then to Clearfield where she lived for 46 years. For the past two years she lived with her daughter in Moab, Utah. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Loreda was known for her sewing and beautiful hand work. She also enjoyed cooking, canning, traveling, camping and crocheting and made all of her grandchildren an afghan blanket. Loreda is survived by six children, William (Cora Kelly) Bosley, Grace, ID; Faye (Robert) Wingate, Morgan, UT; Rhonda (Wesley) Hill, Moab, UT; Glenn Bosley, Clearfield, UT; Kevin Bosley, Roy, UT: Karla (Kevin) Kendall, Layton, UT; 18 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. Loreda was preceded in death by her husband Grant, her parents, seven sisters, one brother and one grandson Wayne Wingate. The family would like to express appreciation to CNS Hospice of Layton, Tanner Clinic, Dr. Burtenshaw, and nurse Carma. Thanks also to CNS Hospice of Moab, Dr. Rouzer, her nurse Elbertine Miner, and the Allen Memorial Hospital staff, and many friends and family for the years of patience hope and help with our witty, entertaining, strong willed mother, grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 27, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
