Loren Eugene Choate
May 30, 1957 ~ September 11, 2018
Loren Eugene Choate, our beloved grandfather, father, brother, uncle, and friend left this earth unexpectedly on September 11, 2018 at McKay Dee Hospital surrounded by loving family and caring hospital staff. Loren was born to Eugene and Marie Choate at the old Dee Hospital in Ogden, UT on May 30, 1957.
He married Cathy Handy in Ogden on October 27, 1977 they later divorced. He married Olive Polete on June 28, 2003 in Ogden.
Loren was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a kind hearted soul, always willing to help anyone in need. He was our best friend, loving grandpa, uncle, and brother.
Loren was an automotive technician for most of his working years, he also loved working on computers on the side and reading. He loved being outdoors when time allowed and spending time with his family.
He had the opportunity to travel and spent time living and working in Ogden; Manti; Rock Springs, WY; Philippine Islands (Clark Air Base), Belgium, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq.
He also served a short time in the US Army during the Vietnam Era.
Surviving are his wife, Olive; two children, Geoffrey (Evelyn) Choate and Elizabeth (Samuel) Greene; a stepson, Palmer (Amanda) Polete; seven grandchildren, one brother, Perry Choate; a sister, Carma Rochell; and a half-sister, LeAnn (Brian) Littledike. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 4 p.m. Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd., South Ogden, 84403. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
A Dad is someone who holds you when you cry,
