Lorene Hill Thompson

Gracia Lorene Hill Thompson, 91, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011 in Layton, Utah. She was born September 1, 1920 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Milo Wesley and Nellie Afton Camomile Hill. She married Ferd Wilbur Thompson January 11, 1944 in Ogden, Utah. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They were the parents of four children. He died in 1982.

Lorene lived in many places as a child. After her marriage she lived in Ogden, Spring City and Layton, Utah. She worked at the Ogden Arsenal assembling ammunitions during World War II where she met Ferd.

Lorene was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings until health problems confined her to home. She looked forward to the Sunday visits from the Forest Park Ward Young Men and Young Women. She was a member of the Fort Lane Camp of the DUP for many years.

Lorene was survived by one daughter Marge Thompson and two sons, Gary (Carolee) Thompson and Paul (Karen) Thompson, 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Pat Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter Peggy, and two grandsons.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
