Loretta Elaine Burton Irwin
1939-2016
Loretta Elaine Burton Irwin passed away on February 23, 2016. Mom was born on November 28, 1939 to Harold and Violet Burton.
She grew up on the Burton ranch 20 miles south of Evanston Wyoming. She learned the value of hard work growing up on the ranch, a character trait that served her well throughout her lifetime. Loretta married Conrad Irwin in 1959 and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Mom and Dad spent most of their lives in Bountiful, Utah. Loretta returned to college later in life earning her bachelor’s degree and went on to teach 4th grade for 20 years at Woods Cross Elementary. She loved teaching and all of her students. Mom was a faithful member of her LDS church and loved her ward and the great people. Mom loved to travel and visited all 50 states.
Loretta is survived by her 3 children; Tammy (Kellie), Clark (Annette) and Natalie (Craig); 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; brother John Burton (Carolyn); sister Juanita (Ed) Virden. Mom passed after a well fought battle with mounting illnesses. The family would like to thank all who visited her as she greatly appreciated your friendship. Also the family appreciates and thanks the staff of North Canyon who cared for her the past several months.
A viewing will be held Saturday February 27, 2016 at 9:00 am with the funeral service to follow at 10:00 am at the Bountiful 16th Ward, 720 East 550 North Bountiful UT. Interment Laketown Utah Cemetery.
