Loretta Sue McGowen

Loretta Sue McGowen, 62, died Thursday, August 30, 2007 at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden.

She was born June 20, 1945 in Long Beach, California, a daughter of Alexander Laurence and Claudia Louise James Dunbar.

Loretta grew up in Long Beach, California later moving to Utah where she resided for 12 years.

She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, knitting and cooking. She loved her animals consisting of dogs, chickens and cows. Loretta loved the outdoors, especially her ranch-to-be in Idaho. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are her loving companion, Allan Vernal Yearsley, Hooper; her children, Jerry McGowen, Sr., JoAnna Barnhill, Ralph McGowen, III, Patrick McGowen, Shanna Rasmussen and Caleb Yearsley; 21 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and her large extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Saturday from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m.

Interment, Hooper Cemetery.
