LORETTA HENRIETTA WALKER
May 19, 1935 - January 1, 2018
Loretta Walker, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday January 1, 2018 in Layton Utah. She was 82 years old.
Loretta was born on May 19, 1935 in Nelson, British Columbia Canada to James Hunter and Bertha May Sutherland. She attended Nelson British Columbia schools and graduated from L.V. Rogers Secondary School.
She married Arthur R. Walker on November 20, 1955 in Nelson, British Columbia. They then moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and finally to Kaysville, Utah. Together they raised three children- a daughter and two sons.
Loretta worked for the IRS and later as a T.O. Clerk at Hill Air Force Base before retiring.
Loretta’s greatest loves were her children and grandchildren. She was most happy when in the company of her family and friends. No matter what was going on around her, she was always smiling and ready to laugh. Loretta radiated positivity and brightened the day of anyone that crossed her path. She was resilient, warm, and always put other people first. She is overwhelmingly loved and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.
Surviving are her Sister: June A Misuraca, Kamloops, BC; her children: James A. Walker, McKinney, TX; Sheri A. Walker, Layton, UT; and Gary E. Walker, Layton, UT; and her two grandchildren, Amanda M. Walker, West Point, UT; Sydney N. Walker, Layton, UT.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, James Hunter, Bertha Mae Sutherland and her Husband, Arthur (Bud) Walker.
Private Family and Friends Memorial will be held Saturday January 6, 2018. Interment will be held at St. Thomas Cemetery, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho at a later date.
