Lori Ann Hales, 50, of Chula Vista, California, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023.

 

Lori was born on November 24, 1972 to Michael and Carol (Johnson) Hales in Ogden, Utah. Lori grew up in Layton, Utah attending Crestview Elementary, Central Davis Junior High, and Layton High School. She was active in sports from a young age and remained active through most of her adult life, running, hiking, and biking.

 

After graduating from high school in 1991, Lori worked a number of jobs in Utah and California but eventually went on to study nursing at Salt Lake Community College, graduating in 2001. She worked as a Registered Nurse for a short time in Utah before moving to California to get away from the snowy winters in Utah. Lori spent over 20 successful years caring for patients and making friends at each new job. She will be missed by her friends and colleagues at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, where she spent the last 16 years of her career.

 

Lori was a true champion of animals. She loved and cared for many pets over the years. Chauncey, Coco, Daphne, Faith, and Maya, just to name a few.

 

Lori was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Carol. She is survived by her brother Gregory Hales, and a niece, Abby. She has many relatives and friends who love her and are heartbroken at the loss of such a bright light in the world. Her smile and her laughter were contagious. She will be missed by many.

 

A small service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.

at the LDS chapel located at 1290 N. Church St., Layton, Utah.

 

Lori will be laid to rest with her parents in the Lindquist Layton Memorial Park, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.
