Together Again
Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Lorna Maxine Lowther Minster, 90, passed away on March 15, 2013 due to causes incident to age.
She was born on April 2, 1922 in Ogden to George Henry and Lucy Darke Lowther. After graduating high school, she married her sweetheart, Walter "Frank" Minster on June 2, 1941 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on December 14, 1964. Together they had four sons and two daughters. Frank passed away on August 23, 2002.
Lorna was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints. She served as Primary President, Ward and Stake Relief Society President, and in the Young Womens''. She and Frank served a temple mission in Seoul, Korea and were ordinance workers in the Ogden Temple.
Lorna lived in the Ogden area all her life. She worked the Dee and McKay-Dee Hospitals in the business office and retired after many years of service. She also served on the Boards at both McKay-Dee and Summit One Credit Unions.
She loved her family more than anything and cherished the time they spent together. She was also an avid Utah Jazz fan.
Lorna is survived by her children, Jeanne Bingham of Washington Terrace, James (Nancy) Minster of South Ogden, Steven (Peggy) Minster of Hooper, Brent (Melva) Minster of Morgan, Marianne (Marv) Dowden of Roy, and Bob (Debbie) Minster of Uintah; 26 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, parents, siblings and step-siblings; one grandson, Randy Bingham; and one great-granddaughter Kristina Hill.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Ogden 49th Ward, 4189 South 300 West in Ogden. Family will meet with friends on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 at the church.
Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, South Ogden.
The family wishes to thank Mountain Ridge Assisted Living and Curo Hospice for their loving care and assistance to our mother.
