LORRAINE HEGSTED GARCIA
April 27, 1931 – January 29, 2021
On the evening of January 29, 2021 our beloved mom, our best friend, our beautiful Angel received her wings and happily took flight. She was so excited to join her flock in Heaven. Although our hearts grieve for our loss we rejoice in her peace. She’s free. She left this world a better place because of her optimism, compassion, kindness, wit and grace, to name only a few of her many virtues. She is sorely missed
Mom received her GED from Davis High School in 1962 while raising her family. She began working at Hill AFB as a keypunch operator and retired 30 years later as a Prime Item Manager in June of 1987. She loved animals, she loved to garden and camping with her family was one of her favorite hobbies. Her children were her pride and joy.
Mom and dad married December 23, 1949 in Elko, NV. They were married 67 years. She received her endowment August 10, 2013 and was later sealed to her husband and children in the Jordan River Temple for time and all eternity.
Mom was preceded in death by our dad, Fred Garcia, grandson, Adam Fisher, granddaughter, Alexandra Garcia, son-in-law, Michael Babinsky and 3 infant great grandsons.
Surviving members of her family are her children Linda (Brad) Keyes, Christine (Kelly) Turner, Steven (Tara) Garcia, Vicky Babinsky, 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
We would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to Dr. Rebecca Moore and Dr. Nischala Nannapaneni for their kind and tender care of our mother. We would also like to thank Ashley, Cassandra, Craig, Joanie, Lisa and Sara of ACTIVE Hospice. You are all amazing Angels. Thank you so very much.
Until we see you again we will carry so many fond memories in our hearts. Rest in peace mom.
A funeral will be held Saturday, February 6, 2021. Due to COVID restrictions only immediate family are allowed to attend in person. We welcome you to join us via https://mywebcast.churchofjesuschrist.org/bennionutahweststake (select Lorraine Garcia Funeral).
