Lorraine Layton Halford 1930 - 2010

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend, Lorraine Layton Halford, 79, passed away of natural causes due to age, Monday, January 4, 2010 in Bountiful, Utah.

Lorraine was born on April 14, 1930 in Kaysville, Utah, the daughter of Clarence Gill Layton and Cynthia Muriah Barton. She married John Walsh Halford on May 5, 1951, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in 1963.

For the past 48 years, Lorraine resided in Bountiful. She was a member of the Bountiful 21st Ward, and served in many different callings. Lorraine dedicated her life to her family, as a woman of great strength and love. Her grandchildren were the source of her greatest joy.

She is survived by her sons Val John and Gill William Halford (Christie); daughters Connie Plant (Gary), LuAnn Glines (Kenneth) and Susan Evans (Kelly); 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sisters Mary Wright, Norma Vickers and Carol Browning. Preceded in death by her devoted husband, her brother Richard Layton, and sister Bernice Weeks.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, January 8, 2010 at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 S. 200 W. under the direction of Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary.
