Lorraine Jones OGDEN – Lorraine Jones, 97, died Sunday, August 24, 2008 at her home in Ogden. She was born July 22, 1911 in Cache Junction, Utah, a daughter of Henry O. and Clara Elizabeth Wright Jones. Lorraine was raised and educated in Cache Junction and attended Stevens Henager Business College. She lived most of her adult life in Salt Lake City. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Lorraine was a nurse at LDS Hospital for many years. She also worked as a seamstress and presser in Salt Lake City. Lorraine loved to crochet and won several blue ribbon awards at the Utah State Fair. She was a good athlete and enjoyed playing tennis and softball. She was a great horseback rider and a good swimmer. Lorraine was a published author. She loved to travel and had been all over the United States and Canada. Surviving are two sisters, Mae Rose Jones and Grace Clara Linde, and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, George Oscar Jones, and an infant brother, Herman. The family expresses their appreciation for the loving care given to Lorraine by Dr. Glen Biddulph and Access Hospice staff, especially Linda, Jodi, Audine and Kristi. Also, a special thanks to the four angels who have been taking care of her, Angie, Theresa, Karen and Kami. Graveside services will be held Friday 1 p.m. at the Newton, Utah Cemetery.
