Lorraine Ruth Paulsen

August 10, 1938 — September 18, 2022

Lorraine Ruth Paulsen was born Aug 10th, 1938 in Ogden, Utah to Henry Ekins and Ruth Easthope. Lorraine passed away from cancer at home surrounded by her family on September 18th, 2022.

She grew up in Ogden, Utah. She worked with her mom at Woolworths in Ogden at the ice cream shop. This is where she met the love of her life, Neill Paulsen. They were married on July 8th 1955. They had six children. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grand and great/grandmother and homemaker.

She loved to be creative and crafty. She could sew, cook, bake, crochet, needle point and could stretch a dime for a month if needed. She loved to decorate her house for Christmas as this was her favorite holiday. She loved Elvis and his music. (Her favorite was I can't help falling in love with you) and to collect all things, Elvis. She loved and took pride in growing roses in her yard. She also collected and loved owls and was a devoted Utah Jazz fan. Her favorite color was purple.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in which she served in many callings: in the nursery, as a teacher, cub scout leader, relief society visiting teacher and her favorite was working in the church library.

She was a devoted mother, but her great passion was to become a grandma/great grandma. She has 13 grandkids and 11 great grandkids. She loved them fiercely.

She was a kind, loving and giving soul. She took in, fed, clothed and housed many people over the years. She was lovingly known as "mom" by all.

She is survived by her children, Brenda Stewart (Ken), Julie Paulsen, Shawn Paulsen (Cindee), (Son-in-law Brad), Sherry Jessop (John), Rhonda Gaertner (Bruce). Her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Roy Ekins and one sister, Janet Cunningham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Neill (2019) and her daughter Kristi (2021)
