"Father and Daughter Together Again"
Lorraine M. Villarruel
OGDEN - Lorraine Martinez Villarruel died peacefully Monday, February 22, 2010 surrounded by her loving family and friends.
She was born January 12, 1953 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Isaac J. and Adelia Talamante Martinez. She was raised and educated in Ogden, she worked for Cromolox for 32 years where she touched the hearts of many of her friends and co-workers.
She was a very kind, loving and cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She had two children: a son, Gilbert (Jody) Martinez and daughter Valerie Martinez; five grandsons, Jacob, Jesse James and Jedidiah Martinez, and Preston and Austin McCubbin. She also has a great granddaughter Starr, who all survive her.
She is also survived by her mother Adelia Martinez, seven sisters and four brothers: Della (Carmel) Quintana, Ida(Joe) Garcia, both of Clinton, UT; Sally (David) Mestas, Filemon (Debbie) Martinez and Kelly (Misty) Martinez, all of Layton, UT; Orpha (Rosendo) Martinez, Ben Martinez, Kathy D’More and Pamela (Rick) Gonzales, all of Ogden, UT; Isabel(Rudy) Gomez of Perry, UT; and Gary (Vada) Martinez of Spokane, WA; a sister- in-law, Jeanette Martinez and many nephews and nieces.
Lorraine had a heart of gold. She was very careful not to hurt anyone, and always looked for the good in everything. She loved being around family and friends, but her pride and joy were those five grandsons. They were her everything. She loved to go camping, fishing and sitting around a campfire joking around and capping with everyone. She loved to sing, accompany you in any song, and sometimes she sang solo. Her favorite song was “Put another log on the fire.” Lorraine, we regret having to let you go. You have been an inspiration to all of us…..silly when we were silly, happy when we were happy, sad when we were sad, and celebrated when we celebrated. Well, from now on we will have to celebrate without you but we will celebrate your life and the wonderful person you have been, which we will miss until we walk, sing and dance with you in Heaven, along with our father and brother Ray Martinez who preceded you in death.
