SOUTH OGDEN a€" Lou Ann Muckey Dunifer, 80, passed away early Monday morning from a broken heart. She was born on February 8, 1933 in Long Beach, California to Willard S. Muckey and Martha June Clifford.

Mom moved to Utah in 1940 at age 7 with her sister, Pat and their mother.

In 1944, a blonde, blue-eyed boy from Mattoon, Illinois entered her classroom and she decided right then and there he was the one for her. They were a couple from that day on. Mom attended Weber High School and was editor of her senior yearbook which won National Awards. After graduation she attended the Ogden Business College where she graduated in stenography and shorthand. She worked for a brief time as the secretary for Swifts.

On February 16, 1951, she married the freckled, blue-eyed boy, John Robert Dunifer and they were together until his death on January 5, 2002.

Mom was a charter member of the South Ogden Jay C-ettes and became president her last year, but continued to support Johnny throughout his time in the club.

Mom dedicated her life to raising her children and many of her grandchildren.

Surviving is her daughter, Robin Anne Croft; son, Drew Mitchell (Karen) Dunifer; niece, Kathleen Whitbeck; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer (Dan) Buttars, Chris Croft, John Jason (Jill) Jude, Cody (Jennifer) Croft, Carrie (Scott) Lancaster, Danny (Cassie) Dunifer, Emily (Clayton) Baldwin, Anthony (Jillian) Dunifer, Mitchell (Hannah) Croft, Jeana Glover; and 13 great-grandchildren, Christian, Ryan and Erica Croft, Landon and McKinley Buttars, Jessica and Jordan Jude, Bella Rae, Jentri Thomas, Christian Baldwin, Wesley and Bentley Dunifer, and Havard "Vardi" Croft; 3 granddogs, Were, Wolf and Ginger.

She was preceded in death by her love, John Robert Dunifer; parents, sisters, Patricia and Linda; and her beloved dogs, Willie, Waif, Mindy, and Jaeger.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

Services entrusted to Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
