LouDean Marie McCandless

April 4, 1946 — January 24, 2025

Salt Lake City

A beautiful blonde, blue-eyed child of promise was born April 4,1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the middle of three daughters of Drew Gray McCandless and Gloria Frankie Dailey McCandless. She died January 24, 2025, in Murray, Utah.

She had a happy childhood and was deeply loved by her family. She attended Webster Elementary, Bryant Jr. High, and East High School in Salt Lake City. She had a generous heart and made friends easily. She enjoyed music, singing, and loved to dance. LouDean had brief marriages to Robert Davini and Charles W. Garcia.

Her work career included jobs in retail, data entry and electronic assembly. She chose a difficult path in life and struggled with addiction most of her adult life. When faced with overwhelming challenges she would often say, “It’s in God’s hands.” LouDean was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and recently expressed a desire to “Go Home.” Each life is precious, and by the grace of God, LouDean has now returned home to rest in peace, and continue her eternal journey, united with her loved ones.

LouDean is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Joseph (Joey) McCandless. She is survived by her daughter, Kelli Davini Newton (Merrill); sisters, Lynette Eichers and Frankie McCandless, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Interment at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Salt Lake City, Utah.
