Louis Thomas Johnson
Louis Thomas Johnson was born June 1, 1929 in Drew, Mississippi to Charles West and Georgia Vaughn. He was 1 of 9 children.
Louis left Mississippi at an early age and attended schools in Chicago for his education. He worked on different jobs in Chicago before me moved to Youngstown, Ohio. There he was chosen by God to teach and preach the gospel.
He met and married his first wife who much later preceded him in death. Of that union was born five daughters and one son. He leaves to mourn his children all of Chicago, Gaynell Mack, Leslie, Rita Johnson and Larry Sistrunk, and two grandsons; two daughters preceded him in death, Ruby Johnson and Christine Tyler;. He also has many grandkids and great-grandkids and other relatives in Chicago of his first wife''s family. He loved his children very much.
Rev as he was called preached the gospel in Chicago Ohio Term. He met his present wife, Clotile in 1987 who he later married in 1993. Of that union he acquired 9 small grandchildren of hers that she was raising. They later adopted all 9 of them. He and Clotile took these children on trips everywhere including, Mount Rushmore, Nebraska, Kansas, Montana, Nevada, California, and Aurora. Rev and Clotile and the children left Aurora, Illinois and moved to Westminster, Colorado to go to the National Jewish Hospital for 5 of the children. Rev preached there and touched many lives.
In 1997, they moved to Casper, Wyoming. Rev opened his church New Beginnings Christian Church, where he preached and taught the gospel. He helped many people in Casper and they helped and loved him. He was in the Casper Lions Club and Police Chaplin from 1999-2005. He was a Mason for 45 years and appointed by Governor Dave Furdenthal to the Developmental Disabilities Council of Wyoming. He was a board member of Community Health Centers of Wyoming. He was in the Brotherhood of St. Andrew and he had many more accomplishments. He loved to travel, pray, read the Bible, and westerns. He had divine wisdom from God all of his life. Rev lived a good spirit filled life. He loved the Lord first, and his wife, Clotile and his family.
The family moved to Ogden, Utah in 2005, where he attended Emmanuel Church of God in Christ under Elder Miller. He later, 3 A½ years ago, attended Calvary Baptist Church under Pastor Willie Martin where he helped out Pastor Martin where he could. He loved the people at Calvary and Emmanuel. He will be missed by many he loved everywhere.
Louis leaves to mourn his wife, Clotile Johnson, eight adopted grandchildren, Michelle, Iseesha, Monique, Ikeea, Monique, Ikeea, Samantha, Jasine, Shamika, Dante, and Tom Johnson Jr., his heart preceded him in death; five step-children, Eric, Carla,, Ruby, Tawanda, and Ellison; sister, Genelle Higgins, St. Louis; sister-in-law, Thelma Johnson and many more brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren;
His five brothers preceded him in death, Early Wright, John Johnson, West Johnson, Julius Johnson, and Melvin Johnson; and two sisters, Annie Lott and Lula.
