Louis Lucero
WASHINGTON TERRACE – On Monday, July 7, 2008 Louie passed from this life to join those of his family who have gone before.
He was born April 17, 1930 in Cleveland, New Mexico to Juan Isidro Lucero and Lucinda (Velasquez) Lucero. He married Bonnie Mathews whom he spent 57 wonderful years with. They were sealed in the Logan Temple in 1963. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and served as a Ward Mission Leader, Sunday School President, and the High Priest Group Secretary.
Louie lived in Denver, Colorado for 10 years and has family members surviving there. He served in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant, and worked at Hill Air Force Base as an aircraft mechanic, until retirement.
Louie enjoyed auto mechanic work, and spent much of his spare time working in his garage helping others fixing their cars. Louie’s love for hunting and fishing took him to the mountains often, where he felt most at home. Dad enjoyed the simple way of life and enjoyed working with his horses, riding in the mountains that he loved so much.
Louie mostly enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren, teaching them how to love and enjoy life, and letting them ride the horses and drive his tractor.
Louie is survived by his loving wife Bonnie, and his children, Louis (Dorinda) Lucero, Doug (Jessi) Lucero, Cheryl (Ken) Murrow, and Jack Lucero. Also surviving are grandchildren Eli, Luke, Gabe, Alisa, Carmen, Jeff, Randy, Renee’, Denise, Angela, Megan, Kade, and Liberty; 18 great grandchildren; two sisters Dorothy and Mary who both reside in Denver, Colorado; and many loving nephews and nieces.
