Louis Rocco, 92, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2017.  He was born on June 21, 1925 to Antonio and Vittoria Vennetilli Rocca.  He was born and lived most of his life in Gallup, NM with the last 4 and a half years spent in Roy, Utah, where he lived with his son. He graduated from high school and then attended a trade school in Detroit, where he became a Journeyman Electrician.

Louis served honorably in the United States Navy during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre as a Carpenter’s Mate Second Class.

He married Alma F. Milligan and they had two children.  They later divorced.  He then married Sharon A. Grant, and they later divorced.

Louis owned and operated Rocco Electric Co. in Gallup, New Mexico for many years. An Italian American, Louis was a member of the Principe Luigi Lodge #1 and of the BFO Elks Lodge as well as Kiwanis.

He liked watching football and Indy car racing.

Louis was very generous and will be fondly remembered as a loving father who was a hard worker, not retiring until the age of 86.

Louis is survived by his son, Terry S. (Rebecca) Rocco, Roy; daughter, Richelle Rocco, Gallup, NM; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sister, Eleanor Robinson of Sebastopol, California.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Vittoria Rocca; brothers, Antonio Rocco of Gallup, NM, Dave Rocco of Gallup, NM, Jim Rocco of Albuquerque, NM; and his twin, Tony Rocco, Jr. of Gallup, NM; and sisters, Louise Barnbaum and Mary Easley, both of Albuquerque, NM, and a sister, who passed in France before the family immigrated to the United States.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Gallup, New Mexico on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the  Hillcrest Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded.
