Louis C. Steed

LAYTON - Louis C. Steed passed away Saturday, November 5, 2011. He was born March 6, 1919, in Clinton, Utah, to George A. and Carrie Stokes Steed. He married Beulah Green on December 9, 1938, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They are the parents of two children, Gordon and Julie.

Louis lived in Ogden and Layton, Utah, throughout his life. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad Company. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Louis and Beulah enjoyed traveling, square dancing and taking the Fun Bus to Wendover. He loved fishing and the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Beulah; son Gordon (Janice), Layton; daughter Julie (Reed) Hansen, Vernal; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters, Lawana Fronk, Tremonton and Pauline (Ralph) Coombs, Riverdale; and sister-in-law Sharon Steed, Riverdale. He is preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Special thanks to the extraordinary people at Applegate Homecare & Hospice and Nightwatch CareGivers for the love and care they showed to Louis and his family.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 11, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the mortuary.

Interment, Clinton City Cemetery.
