Louise Yose Cullimore
LAYTON/KAYSVILLE a" Louise Yose Cullimore, our beautiful wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully in her sleep, after a life well lived, and her children well loved.
Mom grew up a cowgirl on the family ranch in Big Piney Wyoming, spending winters in Salt Lake City for school. She graduated from East High School and then attended Utah State where she met the man who would become her husband and her hero, Grant Cullimore. They were married on December 21, 1942. Grant cared for her devotedly for 68 years, the last ten as her health declined.
While Grant spent three years away during World War II, Louise was worrying and waiting for him at home. When he returned, they moved to Kaysville where Dad took a job teaching and coaching at Davis High School, with Louise as his biggest cheerleader. Mother took a job as an elementary school secretary (a job which she loved) at Burton Elementary and Morgan Elementary in Kaysville. She helped to open both new schools. Engaging with the children was the high point of her day.
Louise and Grant lived with their family in Kaysville for 29 years after which they moved to their dream home in Layton with room for all their horses, dogs and cats. Mom was a true animal lover, and had always wanted a place where she could have her horses nearby.
The family all enjoyed this home so much. Everyone looked forward to spending every Christmas Day at Grandma and Grandpa''s, and in the summers the grandchildren especially enjoyed their beautiful yard where all kinds of sports and games were played. This was made special by Mother''s beautiful flowers. Her grandchildren were her life.
Preceding Louise in death was her father Walter Yose, to whom she was especially close to, her mother Miranda Yose and her maternal Grandmother Mary McGinnis, who lived with her as she was growing up and was like a second mother to her. Also preceding her in death were her beloved brothers Frank and Walter, and special sister-in-law Maurine. There has certainly been a joyous reunion in heaven today.
She is survived by her loving husband Grant, her daughters Virginia Evans, Barbara (Fred) Jones, Kaye (David) Alexander, eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be held Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary. Friends may visit family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 E. Crestwood Road at 12 p.m.
The family would like to thank the wonderful group of caregivers at Mountain Ridge Assisted Living in South Ogden, for treating Louise with such love and care. We appreciated her special nurses Stephanie, Holly, County, and Keri, for the light and happiness they brought into her days when she needed it so much.
Mother, we will always remember the great courage and strength you displayed throughout your many years of ill health. "It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn''t go alone for part of us went with you the day God called you home." Mom, we love and miss you.
