Dorothy Louise Scovel Hall

Dorothy Louise Scovel Hall, beloved Mother and Grandmother passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 22, 1927 to Violet Brown and Oliver L. Scovel, the second of four children.
She was born in Milford, Utah but spent most of her childhood in Caliente, Nevada where she had many fond memories. Later the family moved to Ogden where she attended and graduated from Ogden High School.
On March 16, 1950 she married Donald R. Hall in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and was a kind and loving mother to six children, Steven (Louise Binns), Roger (Jill Funcannon), Jeffrey (Julie Draayer), Susan Franco (Joseph) and twin sons, Donald and Ronald who died one day after their birth in November 1951.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions throughout her lifetime. She, along with her husband Donald were examples of kindness and caring to their children who learned from their example.
Louise lost her own mother at a young age and understood the importance of being at home to raise her children, and later went on to work at the Ogden IRS Service Center for 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her twin sons; sister, Mable; brother, Oliver Jr, and grandson, Mark Hall. She is survived by her four children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brother, Herb Scovel; and sister-in-law, Merrill Watkins Hall.
A family gathering will be held to honor her memory on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Interment will be at Aultorest Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest next to her husband and twin sons.
