Louise Salimeno Hamblen 1921 ~ 2010

OGDEN - Louise Salimeno Hamblen passed away peacefully at McKay-Dee Hospital on Wednesday, October 20, 2010.

She was the daughter of Nick A. and Theresa Salimeno born on April 15, 1921 in Ogden, Utah. She was a member of St. Joseph''s Catholic Church. Aunt Louise lived in a loving Italian family. She grew up in the grocery business at Salimeno''s Market working alongside her mother, father and brother Frank A. Salimeno. Attending Ogden City Schools and graduating from Ogden High School in 1939, she graduated from Weber College with an Associate Degree in Accounting.

In 1948, she married James N. Hamblen. She lived at Ft. Lewis, Washington for a year while her husband Jim completed military service in 1950. They were later divorced and she then returned to Salimeno''s Market and her family.

Following her divorce and leaving the grocery store, she worked at McKay-Dee Hospital in the lab, for 34 years, retiring in 2008. While working at Salimeno''s Market, the hospital, and her great times at the Elks Club and traveling to Las Vegas, she acquired many, very good friends. This was exemplified by the number of times, wherever she went, that people would come up to greet her and reminisce about the days at the grocery store or the many places she had been. She was always proud to be known as a Salimeno.

Aunt Louise had no direct children, but was a second mother and grandmother to her nephew Frank L. (Linda) Salimeno and her niece Kathy S. Williams; great-nieces and nephews, Nick A. (Melanie) Salimeno, Kristin L. (Mike) Norton, Cassie T. (Troy) Terklesen and Nathan D. (Michelle) Williams; her step-nieces, Heidi J. (Cody) Hymas, Heather J. (Scott) Roberts; great-grandnieces and nephews, Kelsey and Riley Minnoch, Jakob and Ben Terklesen; step-great-grandnieces and nephews, Myles and Sydnee Hymas, Kinlee and Carson Roberts and Jonathan and Tana Park.

She is also survived by her cousins, Nancy S. (Larry) Jensen, Margie S. (Dick) Wall and Theresa S. (Allen) Charles.

The family would like to thank the ladies of Beta Sigma Phi, along with old and new friends, for the time you spent with her over that "cup of coffee and pie". She so appreciated your love and care of her.

She was the most kind and considerate person one could know. We will all miss our "Weeze" and her one of a kind personality. Farewell ''til another day Aunt Louise. She now joins her mother and father, brother, sister-in-law Jolene, infant sister Mary and infant nephew Zackary S. Williams, in the happiest of reunions.

Graveside services will be held Monday at 3:30 p.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery.

Family will visit with friends at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Monday from 2 to 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to McKay-Dee Hospital Foundation or St. Joseph''s Catholic Schools.
